Background and aims – The last comprehensive study that estimated the number of Verbenaceae genera species was published in 2004, included 34 around 1200 species. Since then, several publications based on morphology and/or molecular data have proposed important changes within family. Due to lack updated literature cite when referring taxa, a review these estimates is necessary.Key results conclusion We present detailed list currently accepted with contained each compare our numbers previous estimate.
